a81M Built for Hard Metal Machining

The a81M is designed for tough and hard metal machining. It is ideally suited for large-diameter boring and face milling on hard metal materials such as stainless steel, titanium alloys, ductile iron, cast iron and CGI. The integral drive, high-torque spindle (740 ft-lbs) offers many advantages over the traditional gear-head design. Elimination of gears and shafts allows for greater efficiency transferring horsepower and torque from the spindle to the cutting tool. The low-inertia spindle design slashes cycle times due to fast spindle acceleration for drill-and-tap operations.
