The high-speed pick-up gear hobbing machines VSC 400 WF are designed for gear-type workpieces up to module 4 and a diameter of 230 mm. The gear hobbing machines combine turning and hobbing into a single workflow, allowing the second side of the gears to be turned and the tooth profile hobbed in a single set-up. In other words, in the VSC 400 WF does the work of two machines, tailored depending on the component range demand. If a third production phase calls for additional operations – such as milling or drilling in alignment with the turning and hobbing or deburring – they can be carried out using auxiliary tools in the turret. Apart from saving time, a single set-up also means reclamping errors are avoided.
