The LCW 7000 is fully automatic laser machine for constructing the sidewalls of a rail coach. The picture shows a top view of the machine. The automatic loading system can load stainless steel sheets of 2000×1250 mm to 2500×4000 mm. The sheets are one by one laserwelded together and fed into the cutting zone. Once enough sheet material is present in the cutting zone, the cutting head starts cutting out the door and window openings. Meanwhile another gantry, equipped with suction cups, starts removing the resulting big scrap. Small scrap falls on a conveyor under the cutting zone.
Once all the contours are cut, a new cycle of welding sheets together and cutting contours is started. The resulting part can be as long as 25 meter.
