J.P. Simons & Company

Our company was founded in 1919 by Joseph P. Simons Sr. Joe began his career in the industry working for Commonwealth Edison. In 1914, he partnered with Blackwell Electric and , soon after, bought them out and began J.P. Simons & Co. The company originally sold small appliances but after the industrial revolution, began distributing cable, conduit, wiring devices and hundreds of other products. Joe was one of the founders of the Electric Golf Club which today has over 200 members. With Mr. Simons' untimely death, the company was left in the capable hands of his sons Joe Jr. and Walter. Joe Jr. was very active in the industry serving as a board member of NAED, past president of The Lake Michigan Club, Electric Golf Club, and founder of the Little Wheels Club. Today our company is proud to be in its third generation. Jean Simons Bradfield is the current President and is certified as a WBE and DBE.
