    Hot dip Galvanizing is divided into following:
    Pre-Treatment :The items are to be pre-treated before galvanizing so that all the scales and oxides are removed and surface is ready for galvanizing. The items are pickled in Hydrochloric acid baths and rinsed properly, after which these are dipped into hot flux solution tank.

    PRE-TREATMENT IS AN IMPORTANT ACTIVITY TO ACHIEVE GOOD GALVANIZING.

    Drier :The items after Pre-Treatment and with a coat of flux are required to be dried out before putting in the zinc bath so that flux is dried out. This is achieved by passing the items through drier which is heated up by the outgoing waste flue gases from main furnace. The piped are passed through drier on walking beam and are carried to the zinc bath automatically one by one. In case of other items different equipment and procedures are adopted.

    Galvanising :The items are taken to the zinc bath from drier where the zinc is kept in molten condition at 450° C. The zinc coating is achieved by chemical reaction of Zinc on steel. Aluminium is added to molten Zinc for smooth & brighter surface and for reduction in zinc consumption. With short Immersion time it is easy to obtain coating which conforms strictly with the standards required even in case of silicon killed or semi-killed steels, thus, reducing zinc consumption considerably. The heating of furnace is by Furnace oil/Gas or Electricity.

    Extraction :
    Tube Extraction - Single or Double, Manual & Automatic
    Structurals & Hardware - Extraction with special Jigs & Fixtures
    Wire & Strip Extraction - Automatic and Continuous
    Sheets - Automatic upto Stacking

    Quenching :After galvanizing the items, are put in the water quench/dichromate tank in order to bring down the temperature to ambient temperature.

    Inspection & Testing :The items are to be inspected visually for any galvanizing surface defects. The zinc coating is also tested periodically either by non destructive method so as to ensure passing the pierce test.
